Location: Maryland’s Eastern Shore (Salisbury-based, regional growth ahead)  

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $110,000-$180,000, based on experience

Why This Role Matters

This is not a typical superintendent position. For the right candidate, the pathway into leadership can be immediate. As our lead superintendent, you’ll not only deliver projects but also help establish the standards, systems, and embody the culture that will define InSite BUILD for years to come.

 

You’ll step directly into a $60M institutional project already underway, leading its final six months to a strong finish. Beyond that, you’ll be a key face of InSite BUILD in proposals, interviews, and pursuits — helping us grow from hard bid CM into a true CM-at-Risk firm running large-scale projects in the coming years.

 

The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional project outcomes that strengthen InSite BUILD’s reputation and ensure repeat opportunities with our clients and partners.

 

What You’ll Do

• Manage daily site operations with accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and efficiency.

• Lead subcontractors and crews with fairness, teamwork and respect to build long-standing relationships.

• Deliver high-quality results – prioritizing doing it right the first time to ensure schedule, budget, morale, and long-term success.

• Contribute ideas and leadership to refine company culture and establish standards for field execution.

• Serve as the company’s face on-site, maintaining strong relationships with trade partners, clients, design partners, and inspectors, ensuring that every interaction reflects the professionalism and reputation of InSite BUILD.

• Mentor associates as the company expands, helping build our next generation of leaders.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years in a superintendent role.

• Experience of working on projects of $25M+.

• Track record with large institutional, higher education, or public projects.

• Ability to lead crews and multiple subcontractors with confidence and accountability.

• Proven ability to deliver projects safely, with uncompromising quality, and within schedule expectations.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with construction management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Microsoft Project preferred).

• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (other safety credentials a plus).

• Entrepreneurial mindset — hands-on, driven, and eager to contribute to our company growth.
